Sharon Osmond

Description

Sharon Osmond is the Director of K9 Swim – A Hydrotherapy Centre and Wellness Centre for dogs.  Sharon teaches short courses at Richmond Tafe on Animal Massage, Herbal Medicine for Animals, Care of the Senior dog and Hydrotherapy. She founded K9 SWiM in 2013 when one of her dogs, Curzon, was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. She knew the best thing for Curzon was to swim her in warm water and realised that there was such a need for it, not only for Curzon but for all dogs out there suffering similar conditions.

In 2014 Sharon was awarded a scholarship with the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia’s 2014 Professional Development Program and went to study in the UK at Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy Referral Centre. This allowed her to further her skills and knowledge in rehabilitation in hydrotherapy.

K9 Swim has now become a referral centre for many Sydney Vets including SASH. Sharon works closely with vets and physiotherapists in the assistance of recovery of dogs with muscular skeletal issues and post surgery rehabilitation.

Sharon is very passionate about hydrotherapy and physical therapies for animals.
